In this blog we have compiled a checklist with a few tips on keeping your clients happy. Let’s get started!

CHECKLIST # 1: MAKE YOUR CLIENTS FEEL WELCOME AT YOUR PREMISES

Let’s start with the basics. If you have a client visiting your office, you should always make sure that you and your team greets them by adopting a friendly and a conversational demeanor at all times.

CHECKLIST # 2: COME ACROSS AS PROACTIVE

Clients are very fond of organizations who take the initiative and don’t shy away to regularly generate new ideas for them via various means of communication such as email and telephone. This simple gesture makes the client feel as if they are a priority for your business.

CHECKLIST # 3: HAVE A MEETING AGENDA

Nothing can beat a well-planned meeting. Client face-to-face meetings are rare hence when you have a meeting scheduled for the week make sure you have a meeting agenda in place, a punchy powerpoint presentation that highlights the key points you plan to focus on because no one likes long and boring meetings.  Also, don’t forget to include all the necessary refreshments around the meeting table to make sure your clients feel energized.

CHECKLIST # 4: COMPLIMENT & PRAISE

Always congratulate your clients on their significant accomplishments. You can also send them greeting cards during the main festivals such as Christmas and perhaps even send them surprise hampers once in a while. This way your client will no doubt feel like an essential part of your corporation and be super impressed with your attentiveness.

CHECKLIST # 5: DON’T BE TOO PUSHY

At times we get hung up on upselling services/products to existing clients with the intention of monetary scaling and not focusing on the allocated work at hand. This move can be risky at times as it is likely to put your clients off from renewing their contract with you again.

Instead, take it easy and focus on delivering high standards of work. Do you know what the key to success with any client is? It is, to be honest, and genuine at all times if you wish to have a lasting relationship with them.

CHECKLIST # 6: MANAGE YOUR TIME WELL

Missing deadlines is a complete no, and if you’re consistently not delivering on time, this can jeopardize your future with the client. Hence, always make sure that you set realistic deadlines and stick to these as much as possible unless you come across an unavoidable situation.
